Year 7 Reward Trip

Year 7 attended their reward trip to the Mareeba RSL on Tuesday night (7th July). Close to 50 students enjoyed a night at the movies watching the Jungle Book. Many students have been working well in class this term and are almost finished assessments. This coming Tuesday we will see year 7 vs year 8 in a 'Rubbish War' to keep our school a safe clean learning environment. May the best win!

Year 9 Maths Enrichment Camp

The annual Year 9 Tablelands Mathematics Enrichment Camp was held from the 27th-29th July.  Forty-five extension mathematics students from across the Tablelands were given the opportunity to work with like-minded students and extend their mathematical abilities.  The students participated in a number of activities that not only involved mathematics but included high ropes, canoeing and trivia.  Some of the activities that the students participated in were Code Breaking, Networks, Towers of Hanoi, Bearings and Rogaining.  Highlight of the camp was the evening trivia quiz compered by Mr Terry McClelland.  Team, Pythons narrowly won after a nail biting tie breaker.  In the traditional Towers of Hanoi tournament Mr Sellars competed against Richard Thompson.

The students thoroughly enjoyed their experience and were a pleasure to work with.
A huge thank you to all the visiting staff and the Year 12 Maths C students who came out to the camp.
