DATE CLAIMER:
21st April - NAPLAN Online Practice Test (Year 7: Lesson 1 & 2, Year 9: Lesson 3 and 4)
10th-13th May - NAPLAN Online Test
Purpose
To provide information about the dates of the 2022 National Assessment Program — Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) tests.
Background
The Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) has responsibility for central management of NAPLAN tests.
The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) coordinates the administration, marking and reporting of the tests in Queensland.
The tests assess students in the areas of literacy (reading and writing) and numeracy.
Information
Dates for tests
2022 NAPLAN tests will be conducted between Tuesday 10 May and Friday 20 May.
This extended test window of nine days allows schools more flexibility in scheduling, and assists schools with fewer devices than students.
Schools that have significant difficulty in completing cohort testing before moving on to the next test domain may apply to QCAA for a relaxation of this protocol.
Evidence may be required to support such applications.
Schools may use the extended test window as best suits their needs while meeting the following requirements:
• Testing must commence on the dates stated in the Handbook for principals and NAPLAN coordinators.
• Tests must be scheduled in the order outlined in the Handbook for principals and NAPLAN coordinators.
• Schools must not schedule school camps or excursions on testing days.
Administration
In late January, all schools were advised of the dates for uploading, checking and verifying the data for all students eligible to participate in NAPLAN tests.
The Handbook for principals and NAPLAN coordinators will be released in February.
This handbook contains relevant sections of ACARA's National protocols for test administration, including the code of conduct, and information and instructions for administering the tests from the QCAA.
Participation
All students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 are expected to participate in NAPLAN tests.
